Baltimore Museum of Art Wedding in Maryland

Caleb + Crisjana

Caleb and Crisjana knew exactly what they wanted their wedding day to look like from the very beginning. They had their engagement session at a similar venue in Washington, DC at the National Gallery of Art. Their wedding, just like their engagement was art in motion.

Their day was lively, bold, colorful and centered around looking good and feeling fabulous. Their winter wedding was also a unique way to heat up what is usually a cold season in the Maryland and DC area.

Their wedding at Baltimore Museum of Art felt like it was lit by the stars. The design team for the venue created an amazing scene. The decor, catering and floral team really elevated the space with their centerpieces and table settings.

The stars of the show were without a doubt the bride and the groom. Caleb in a white jacket tuxedo and his bride in a flowing dress and dazzling from head to toe in beautiful details. When Caleb spoke, we listened. When Crisjana laughed, we smiled. When they said “I do”, we all cheered. Their day really felt like something out of a movie. Down to the last moment of the day when they said their goodbyes and jumped into a vintage car and were driven away.

Lots of couples elect to have their wedding during the late summer and throughout the fall months but a January wedding was sure to be different from the ordinary.

This may be a wildly unpopular opinion but I really enjoy winter weddings. After the holidays and New Year, it always feels like there is nothing much to be done in terms of vacations, events or weddings. People typically seem to be waiting for spring or planning for the summer and January, February and early March tend to be forgotten.

I imagine a winter wedding with snow flurries to make for beautiful portraits for the couple and really cute cocktail hour selfies for the guests. Or even a Valentine’s day themed wedding with red florals, red velvet cake and maybe even a red reception dress for the bride.

Aside from how visually stunning a winter or Valentine’s day wedding would be, there are usually great perks for having a winter wedding, especially in this area. Vendors and venues may offer “off-season” pricing which could save couples thousands. Venues and vendors may have much more availability as well so you can avoid having to fight hundreds of other couples for a date and venue.

If you choose to have your wedding around the holidays, you can tap into the festive spirit, with decorations and celebrations already in full swing. It can be a wonderful time to bring friends and family together for both your wedding and holiday celebrations who might already be in town.

Honeymoon deals for winter escapes also tend to be a little less expensive. You can have the wedding AND honeymoon youve always wanted without having to break into your piggy bank during the winter. Winter fashion is always top notch as well as more layers keep you warm while keeping you fabulous. Faux fur coats and wraps, wool lavish top coats and long sleeve gowns add a bit of sophistication to your wedding gala.

Whatever you choose for your wedding date or theme, I hope to see you there. See you soon!
